OK Mart (part of OK Khata) gives merchants an online store and an app to run it: products, orders, customers, stock and payments. This page explains what personal data we handle, why, and the choices you have.

Who this covers

  • Merchants and their staff who sign in to the OK Mart app.
  • Shoppers who visit a merchant's store, ask for a quote, place an order or sign in to a store.

For a store's shoppers, the merchant decides what is collected and how it is used; we process that data on the merchant's behalf to run their store. Contact the merchant for questions about your orders with them.

What we collect

  • Account details: name, email address and phone number; if you sign in with Google, the name, email address and profile picture Google shares with your permission. We do not receive your Google password.
  • Store data a merchant adds: products, prices, stock, photos, customers, orders, invoices and notes.
  • Order and quote details from shoppers: name, phone, email, delivery address and what was asked for or bought.
  • Technical data: device and browser type, pages used and error reports, kept to run and secure the service. Stores keep your cart and sign-in on your device (local storage).

How we use it

  • To provide the service: sign you in, run stores, take and track orders, send the messages you ask us to send.
  • To keep it secure and working: preventing abuse, fixing problems, backups.
  • To contact merchants about their account and the service.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use shoppers' data for our own advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the providers needed to run the service, under their own security and privacy terms:

  • Hosting and database (Supabase), website hosting (Netlify).
  • Sign-in providers you choose to use (for example Google).
  • Payment, email and messaging providers (such as WhatsApp) when a merchant turns them on.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

While the account or store is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax and accounting records. A merchant can delete their customers' records; ask us to delete an account and its data.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by writing to us (or to the merchant, for a store's data). We follow the data protection laws that apply to you, such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and Nigeria's Data Protection Act, 2023.

Children

OK Mart is for businesses and is not meant for children under 18.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top.
